Ramblings, Sentiments, Rantings and Musings

My photo
I am a mother of 5 wonderful children and wife to one amazing Navy man. I am always changing things in my life, constantly learning something new and trying it out. I am a wannabe vegan, minimalist and currently living full time in an RV. Just for clarification, I say wannabe, because I know I am not perfect, but each day I strive to do the best I can. That's all I can expect from anyone no matter where they are in life. I learn something new everyday...mostly about myself and my little corner of reality. Life, to me, is loving, learning and making memories. These are better than all the tangible riches one can get their hands on! Besides, there will come a day when all I have left is my love and memories...so I'll stockpile as much of those as I can!

Wow, I have managed to get on here twice this month...
I thought I would try to upload some photos that I took recently. There are a lot, but it has been a while since I have been able to add pics. Not to mention, who knows when I will get on here again. We'll see if I even last long enough to get all of them on tonight. It is already 11:30 p.m. and I have to be up very early in the morning to get Braji to her volunteer job. Yikes!!!
These are pictures from Zach's last football game. They won 36 to 26 and it was a great game. The best all season I think and a lot of fun to watch. Way to go Zach #75!!!

This particular play he made a fabulous tackle. That is him there in the middle, just before he threw #33 to the ground. Excellent tackle!
Next is Braji's new haircut. I didn't want her to cut her hair because I thought she wouldn't like it, but turns out I was wrong. Boy is she cute, and looks waaayyy too old to only be 12. I am glad she likes it though since it was such a drastic change. Love you Braji, you are beautiful!!!

These are pics I just took yesterday of Jud and Braji riding together and working with the horses. Jud doesn't get on very often, but really looks great when he does. I have wrangled me a cowboy...who knew!

Here are pics of the Paxton and Miranda's last gymnastics meet. They did so good. I don't know how many more pictures I will get of Miranda in a leo after this season though, because I believe she is going to move on to another sport. Paxton, however seems to be set to stick it out...so we will see. Kids change their minds quite often and sometimes mine are no different. Hmmm...

These are some odds and ends from the recent past (last month or so). Face painting, hay in my truck, and a basket of veggies from our garden. The hay pictures were so funny to take. I didn't think they would ever get that 1500 lb. roll of grass hay out of my truck, but ingenuity won in the end and it is now in our hay barn! Good job guys!

This is Braji at a country fair type event hosted by the place where she works. It was so much fun. There was scarecrow building, pumpkin decorating, face painting, chili to eat, pony rides, hay rides, a blue grass band and horse decorating contest. Braji took 2nd place in the contest and won $50. She did such a great job. The horse is actually painted! I just couldn't believe that he stood still for all that, but I guess he felt it was his patriotic duty! Hehehe...yes, I know that was corny, but I couldn't resist!

I didn't realize I got a picture of the back of Paxton and Miranda's heads while they were looking at the horse before the contest. Braji and I braid pretty good I guess, because their meet was earlier that morning and their braids still look really good. Guess that comes from doing little girls hair for so long! I will secretly miss it when they are grown, for sure! Which reminds me we have a birthday coming up in a couple weeks. My baby will be 8! Is that possible? Oh, never mind don't answer that. Sigh.

Well I hope that you enjoyed the small peek into our lives recently. These are some of my excuses for not posting as often as I used to. Priorities, priorities, priorities! Happy Fall to you all!

Famous Quotes

"I am beginning to suspect all elaborate and special systems of education. They seem to me to be built upon the supposition that every child is a kind of idiot who must be taught to think. Whereas, if the child is left to himself, he will think more and better, if less showily. Let him go and come freely, let him touch real things and combine his impressions for himself, instead of sitting indoors at a little round table, while a sweet-voiced teacher suggests that he build a stone wall with his wooden blocks, or make a rainbow out of strips of coloured paper, or plant straw trees in bead flower-pots. Such teaching fills the mind with artificial associations that must be got rid of, before the child can develop independent ideas out of actual experience." -- Anne Sullivan
