Ramblings, Sentiments, Rantings and Musings

My photo
I am a mother of 5 wonderful children and wife to one amazing Navy man. I am always changing things in my life, constantly learning something new and trying it out. I am a wannabe vegan, minimalist and currently living full time in an RV. Just for clarification, I say wannabe, because I know I am not perfect, but each day I strive to do the best I can. That's all I can expect from anyone no matter where they are in life. I learn something new everyday...mostly about myself and my little corner of reality. Life, to me, is loving, learning and making memories. These are better than all the tangible riches one can get their hands on! Besides, there will come a day when all I have left is my love and memories...so I'll stockpile as much of those as I can!
Spring? Snow? Amazing!

A vision of incredible frosty white goodness. The transformation of the landscape is amazing. I can look at this forever and never grow bored. The snow that fell around us last night, left for us this beauty to gaze upon on this Easter morning.
This morning hadn't started well for me. I could feel myself growing grouchy when I couldn't find something in the camper. I stepped outside and immediately was met by the scene above. I froze, (almost literally, he he he) and was consumed by the calmness of it all. I felt instantly light and carefree. My frustrations gone, replaced by a serene peace that I can't explain.
Suddenly a slight breeze blew some of the powdery snow from the trees. I looked down and on my green jacket I saw tiny, individual snowflakes. I could see the tiny details. So captivating. "come see, it is incredible. ooohhh. aahhh."
My senses were alive. I found myself trying to find the birds whose whistles, trills and chirps were teasing me. In the hide and seek we played I did spot one long enough to photograph. In between the birds I could hear the nearly silent thud of the dusty snow as the wind pushed it from it's perch on the trees.
Now as I look around the skies are still grey as the sun plays peek-a-boo. The trees have lost their splendid fluffy white attire. My mood is light and I am reminded of the goodness all around me. My beautiful family. Our memories we are making together.

Happy Easter! Happy Spring! Happy days and memories to you and yours!

Famous Quotes

"I am beginning to suspect all elaborate and special systems of education. They seem to me to be built upon the supposition that every child is a kind of idiot who must be taught to think. Whereas, if the child is left to himself, he will think more and better, if less showily. Let him go and come freely, let him touch real things and combine his impressions for himself, instead of sitting indoors at a little round table, while a sweet-voiced teacher suggests that he build a stone wall with his wooden blocks, or make a rainbow out of strips of coloured paper, or plant straw trees in bead flower-pots. Such teaching fills the mind with artificial associations that must be got rid of, before the child can develop independent ideas out of actual experience." -- Anne Sullivan
