Ramblings, Sentiments, Rantings and Musings

My photo
I am a mother of 5 wonderful children and wife to one amazing Navy man. I am always changing things in my life, constantly learning something new and trying it out. I am a wannabe vegan, minimalist and currently living full time in an RV. Just for clarification, I say wannabe, because I know I am not perfect, but each day I strive to do the best I can. That's all I can expect from anyone no matter where they are in life. I learn something new everyday...mostly about myself and my little corner of reality. Life, to me, is loving, learning and making memories. These are better than all the tangible riches one can get their hands on! Besides, there will come a day when all I have left is my love and memories...so I'll stockpile as much of those as I can!
These seemingly common yet so very precious moments in my life::

So many times here lately I find that I have allowed time to become my arch enemy instead of a wonderul friend.

Since when have the Almighty Time and I come to such an erradic and frustrating end? Oh, my! I just said it out loud. Whew, so in order to patch up this sadly lacking relationship I have taken a few photos from the last few days. I took the "time" to really experience the little moments instead of allowing them to just keep slipping on by. I watched my life through the lens realizing how much I need to slow down, while seeing all I am missing. Always rushing to and fro.
So I stopped to watch the sun set this evening. We have breathtaking sunsets out west. We are so blessed to bear witness to them any evening we choose. Amazing.

The last of the tomatoes for the year. We are having freezing temperatures and frost. I stopped to glimpse their green goodness and to hope that they will make it til harvest. Sad to be ending. Sad to see them go.
I stopped to watch the children play in the yard and practicing their gymnastics. It makes my heart smile to watch them just "be" together unhindered and free.

I stopped to watch a cute sneaky hand getting closer and closer to my cherry...mmm!

I stopped to watch my youngest sweet little girl "making sompthin". She is getting very good. Keep an eye out for a scarf I believe. Sweet.

I stopped to watch my very own "Curious George" teasing the poor chickens. She wanted to see if they would follow the rock she was moving around in front of them. It's the little things didn't you know? Though for her sake the chickens can't get their sharp beaks through the wire!

Slowing down and embracing time isn't always easy in our hectic lives, but man is it ever worth it. Too much life happens without me seeing it. I hope that I can stay focused so as to not miss to much anymore.

Hope you are embracing time as well. Experience everything you can, you will be glad you did.

Famous Quotes

"I am beginning to suspect all elaborate and special systems of education. They seem to me to be built upon the supposition that every child is a kind of idiot who must be taught to think. Whereas, if the child is left to himself, he will think more and better, if less showily. Let him go and come freely, let him touch real things and combine his impressions for himself, instead of sitting indoors at a little round table, while a sweet-voiced teacher suggests that he build a stone wall with his wooden blocks, or make a rainbow out of strips of coloured paper, or plant straw trees in bead flower-pots. Such teaching fills the mind with artificial associations that must be got rid of, before the child can develop independent ideas out of actual experience." -- Anne Sullivan
