Ramblings, Sentiments, Rantings and Musings

My photo
I am a mother of 5 wonderful children and wife to one amazing Navy man. I am always changing things in my life, constantly learning something new and trying it out. I am a wannabe vegan, minimalist and currently living full time in an RV. Just for clarification, I say wannabe, because I know I am not perfect, but each day I strive to do the best I can. That's all I can expect from anyone no matter where they are in life. I learn something new everyday...mostly about myself and my little corner of reality. Life, to me, is loving, learning and making memories. These are better than all the tangible riches one can get their hands on! Besides, there will come a day when all I have left is my love and memories...so I'll stockpile as much of those as I can!
Time passes, it's a lovely summer::

Well here I am again thinking about how long it has been since I have been able to write. You know, when my children were little I thought that things would be less hectic and complicated as they got older. I was so right, yet so wrong. No, they aren't babies and toddlers any more, however now I am constantly on the go. They have never been as active as they are now. Life isn't any more difficult per se, because I am blessed to have wonderful children. It is however busier than I ever anticipated.

Right now in our lives:: Zachary is playing football for a local school. Brianna is still volunteering at an equestrian riding center for the physically and/or mentally handicapped. Paxton and Miranda are still on the gymnastics team and training for the upcoming competition season this fall. Franki is also doing gymnastics. Jud is getting ready to start a new schedule which will be six days on and four off, but the hours are a little crazy. His new hours will surely make things even more crazy, but at least he is home and not deployed.

I can't tell you enough about how great life has been since we moved here. I have had such a wonderful time with my family. We are even closer than we have ever been and have had so much time to just be together as a family. Brianna has been teaching the little girls to ride our horses. They are all doing so well. There is always something to do around here. Whether it is tending the garden, caring for the horses and cleaning up after them or chasing chickens, our life is full to it's bursting point. Not to mention all the outside activities as well.

I wish I had more time to get on here more often, but I wouldn't trade the amazing chaos that is my life with my wonderful family. I miss writing about all our adventures, but I am just too busy living them right now. You know, it's kind of like taking lots of pictures of some activity with your loved ones. The pictures are great to have, but did you really get to participate or truly watch? I find that I am less likely to have great memories if I am to engrossed in photographing the event. So, right now I don't have the time or energy to write as often. I am however loving this unique (for our Navy family) and amazing time with all of us together.

I keep saying that I will write more when things slow down, but I don't see it happening anytime soon. I am so okay with that. I hope that you will still drop by and see what we're up to now and then because I will get on here occasionally and write a few lines to try and update a little. For now though I am off to bed to get some sleep so that I will be energized for tomorrow. Good night all and I hope to be on here again soon. I hope that you are having the wonderful opportunity to spend some quality time with your families this summer too!

Famous Quotes

"I am beginning to suspect all elaborate and special systems of education. They seem to me to be built upon the supposition that every child is a kind of idiot who must be taught to think. Whereas, if the child is left to himself, he will think more and better, if less showily. Let him go and come freely, let him touch real things and combine his impressions for himself, instead of sitting indoors at a little round table, while a sweet-voiced teacher suggests that he build a stone wall with his wooden blocks, or make a rainbow out of strips of coloured paper, or plant straw trees in bead flower-pots. Such teaching fills the mind with artificial associations that must be got rid of, before the child can develop independent ideas out of actual experience." -- Anne Sullivan
