Ramblings, Sentiments, Rantings and Musings

My photo
I am a mother of 5 wonderful children and wife to one amazing Navy man. I am always changing things in my life, constantly learning something new and trying it out. I am a wannabe vegan, minimalist and currently living full time in an RV. Just for clarification, I say wannabe, because I know I am not perfect, but each day I strive to do the best I can. That's all I can expect from anyone no matter where they are in life. I learn something new everyday...mostly about myself and my little corner of reality. Life, to me, is loving, learning and making memories. These are better than all the tangible riches one can get their hands on! Besides, there will come a day when all I have left is my love and memories...so I'll stockpile as much of those as I can!
Life of late...

Might as well just make a list. That would be easier than trying to write about each individual event. This might also give a better or clearer picture as to why I haven't had time to get on the computer to write for awhile. So these are the events of the last month or so. I am taking a deep breath here (you might want to as well)! I hope my memory will hold out for all of this, he he he!

  • Girlfriend and children visited for 5 days.

  • Chicken coop was built.

  • Girlfriend left and chickens arrived.

  • Father and step-mother arrived to visit and finish our unfinished basement.

  • Went to top of Pikes Peak on the cog rail with family. Beautiful.

  • Regular schedule with doctors appointments, volunteer work for Brianna, and gymnastics for the girls continued.

  • Bought 8 thousand pounds of dirt for horses and gardens. I shoveled it with the kids until my elbow is in a sad state.

  • Worked on flower beds with my step mother.

  • Basement work continued all the while.

  • About a million trips to Lowe's and Home Depot! Okay, maybe not a million, but you can imagine non the less.

  • Drove to Phantom Canyon (THE SCARIEST DRIVE OF MY LIFE!!!!!!!!!)"Nuff said about that!

  • Hit the casino in Cripple Creek. Jud played $20 and won $300, I also won $20 on the penny slots.

  • Took kids to see one of the worlds largest horses "Shrek". Didn't get any pics.

  • Basement finally finished. It took 18 days I think it was.

  • Father and step-mother left for KY. We had a great visit and hope that they did as well.

  • The girls were in the 4th of July parade. Very neat event, the fire trucks were out and sprayed the crowd and the crowd all had water guns and sprayed right back. FUN!!!

  • We painted the basement again.

  • Miranda pulled out her front tooth, finally.

  • House cleaning and organizing after a month of company.

  • 4th of July cook out.

  • Today we went to the Garden of the Gods park. Another very cool place to see. Hope to get some pics on here soon.

So that is just some of the reason I haven't had the time or energy to get on the computer lately. I have felt completely drained of any energy by the end of the day. I am hoping to have time again real soon to get back on here regularly.

I will be posting more recipes and some new knitting projects with photos soon. Thought I would try to put some on here tonight, however I will be lucky to finish this post. I am exhausted and today has been a very long day.

Okay, I fibbed. I am trying to get some photos on here as I type. Boy oh boy is this computer slow tonight. We'll see if I make if for the upload.

Meanwhile I should tell you that even though the last month or so has been a little hectic it has also been a lot of fun. We had the great opportunity to visit with friends and family, both of which we had a good visit and made some wonderful memories. Also, we accomplished alot of goals that we had set. We have an almost completely finished basement, chickens that should be laying in about 2 months, and a garden that is coming along nicely.

We are doing great and having a great time doing it all. I hope that whatever it is that you may have going on in your lives that it is going well. I'd love to know how you are doing.

Off to bed now, I need my beauty sleep! Good night!

Famous Quotes

"I am beginning to suspect all elaborate and special systems of education. They seem to me to be built upon the supposition that every child is a kind of idiot who must be taught to think. Whereas, if the child is left to himself, he will think more and better, if less showily. Let him go and come freely, let him touch real things and combine his impressions for himself, instead of sitting indoors at a little round table, while a sweet-voiced teacher suggests that he build a stone wall with his wooden blocks, or make a rainbow out of strips of coloured paper, or plant straw trees in bead flower-pots. Such teaching fills the mind with artificial associations that must be got rid of, before the child can develop independent ideas out of actual experience." -- Anne Sullivan
