Ramblings, Sentiments, Rantings and Musings

My photo
I am a mother of 5 wonderful children and wife to one amazing Navy man. I am always changing things in my life, constantly learning something new and trying it out. I am a wannabe vegan, minimalist and currently living full time in an RV. Just for clarification, I say wannabe, because I know I am not perfect, but each day I strive to do the best I can. That's all I can expect from anyone no matter where they are in life. I learn something new everyday...mostly about myself and my little corner of reality. Life, to me, is loving, learning and making memories. These are better than all the tangible riches one can get their hands on! Besides, there will come a day when all I have left is my love and memories...so I'll stockpile as much of those as I can!
Gifts the girls made

B and P made these cute little crochet treats for a homeschooled friend who is turned 17 today. B made the blue belt with tassels and she made the pattern herself. P made the little purse and then added a strap that would hang a good way down from the shoulder also adorable. I am so proud of the girls. My younger girls also gave gifts, but they "wrapped" them before I could get a picture. Darn. The birthday girl was very pleased with the thoughtful gifts she recieved today. I could not be more proud and pleased with the givers of the gifts!

I of course knitted a pink hat and scarf for my brother's baby that is due in a few weeks and we found out yesterday that the baby is a boy! I did however start knitting a blue set as well so I only have the hat to go. I also began working on a recieving blanket, but I think I may have over extended myself. We just put our house on the market and keeping it up and show ready with 7 people living here, and 6 out of the 7 are here all day everyday is no easy feat. Okay, not "every" day, but pretty darn close!
So we will see how much I get finished. I will try to remeber to take pics of the hat and scarf sets and post them tomorrow. For now I am off to work on the blanket and hope baby takes his time for his auntie.

Famous Quotes

"I am beginning to suspect all elaborate and special systems of education. They seem to me to be built upon the supposition that every child is a kind of idiot who must be taught to think. Whereas, if the child is left to himself, he will think more and better, if less showily. Let him go and come freely, let him touch real things and combine his impressions for himself, instead of sitting indoors at a little round table, while a sweet-voiced teacher suggests that he build a stone wall with his wooden blocks, or make a rainbow out of strips of coloured paper, or plant straw trees in bead flower-pots. Such teaching fills the mind with artificial associations that must be got rid of, before the child can develop independent ideas out of actual experience." -- Anne Sullivan
