I am a mother of 5 wonderful children and wife to one amazing Navy man. I am always changing things in my life, constantly learning something new and trying it out. I am a wannabe vegan, minimalist and currently living full time in an RV. Just for clarification, I say wannabe, because I know I am not perfect, but each day I strive to do the best I can. That's all I can expect from anyone no matter where they are in life. I learn something new everyday...mostly about myself and my little corner of reality. Life, to me, is loving, learning and making memories. These are better than all the tangible riches one can get their hands on! Besides, there will come a day when all I have left is my love and memories...so I'll stockpile as much of those as I can!
One step closer

Well today we are having the new carpet installed in all of our bedrooms. My living room is a huge pile of STUFF. There is such a mess that when I look at it and my brain makes the connection that it will have to be cleaned, and...well lets just say I won't share the barrage of negative language that I am screaming on the inside.

On the other hand, getting the carpet installed is one more step closer to our move. We have decided to consider living in the camper when we return from our house hunting leave. It will save me and all the kids from the ridiculous task of keeping it spotless every day! If we don't move in to the camper to stay after we return I know that I will be perpetually busy and will have no time to do anything I "want" to do, or the stuff that kids want to do. Not to mention that it will be frustrating to have to clean constantly. Leave the house licketty split! (I have always wanted to use that line) Urrrrgh!

Back to the carpet. I am so psyched about having new carpet though, even if it is only for a brief amount of time. Our other carpets are not that old (2004), but after the hurricanes, dogs, children...well you know, It is time to bid it farewell, with its holes, stains and all! Now the question is can we keep it clean with 5 kids, a St. Bernard dog, and two cats? That camper is looking better and better all the time ;) That is until the reality of the size kicks in. Then all I can think about is whether or not we can handle the close quarters. I guess we will see after our long trip. So we'll see:)

So wish me luck putting all the stuff back into its perspective room and that the carpet will live stain free for a very long time (or at least until the house sells)!

Have a great day!

Famous Quotes

"I am beginning to suspect all elaborate and special systems of education. They seem to me to be built upon the supposition that every child is a kind of idiot who must be taught to think. Whereas, if the child is left to himself, he will think more and better, if less showily. Let him go and come freely, let him touch real things and combine his impressions for himself, instead of sitting indoors at a little round table, while a sweet-voiced teacher suggests that he build a stone wall with his wooden blocks, or make a rainbow out of strips of coloured paper, or plant straw trees in bead flower-pots. Such teaching fills the mind with artificial associations that must be got rid of, before the child can develop independent ideas out of actual experience." -- Anne Sullivan
