Ramblings, Sentiments, Rantings and Musings

My photo
I am a mother of 5 wonderful children and wife to one amazing Navy man. I am always changing things in my life, constantly learning something new and trying it out. I am a wannabe vegan, minimalist and currently living full time in an RV. Just for clarification, I say wannabe, because I know I am not perfect, but each day I strive to do the best I can. That's all I can expect from anyone no matter where they are in life. I learn something new everyday...mostly about myself and my little corner of reality. Life, to me, is loving, learning and making memories. These are better than all the tangible riches one can get their hands on! Besides, there will come a day when all I have left is my love and memories...so I'll stockpile as much of those as I can!
Whirlwind of Days

The last few days have been so crazy busy that I had no real chance to write. I am gonna add a few photos from the last week. We creatively celebrated 2 birthdays, one Halloween trip to the zoo, one horseback riding lesson, and two gymnastic practices to prepare for a meet this weekend! And just when I get to take a breath, I have to start preparing for the holidays, three more birthdays, one horseshow and one more gymnastics meet! Whew...will life ever calm down? Probably not cause we are being transferred early next year!

I've been feeling very overwhelmed with life in general here lately due to so much activity and no real "down" time! Today is the first time that I can think of in the last week that I have really stopped to think, let alone blog. And right now I think, "I am grateful for this time to think and write"!!! Just a few moments to breathe without the bustle of activity and little people needing something right now.

Oh, but how sad I will be when I don't have all the moments of my life filled with the wants, needs, antics and so forth from the sweet babes I have been so blessed with! Oh, I just can't imagine the empty whole that will leave. Ooohhh, I have to stop right here before I get myself all worked up and upset over the future!

So back to my original ramblings, here is a glimpse of some of the stuff we have been up to the last few days...

The children made some wall decorations for Daddy's birthday. We had fun making these and the buttons came out really cute.

I divided the birthday cake into 6 sections so that we could each decorate a square, another big hit with my kiddos!

We also made a trip to the dollar store and the kids picked up several small items that they wrapped for Daddy's treasure hunt as well. We had a lot of fun for a small amount of money. We also did the same thing for M's birthday and each of the children were able to get her a couple of gifts and she had lots to unwrap which really was exciting for you.

Next was the Halloween event at the zoo. It wasn't anything scarey really, but there were lots of characters, candy and gifts! Tons of pumpkins all carved too!

The end of the zoo came sadly to an end. Then it was onto Wendy's to spend our free coupons from the dollar menu. Yeah, I know that fast food is REALLY bad for you but what the hell, sometimes you just gotta cut loose!

The next few days were busy with gymnastics practice and preparations for M's birthday. I have lots of photos, however I forgot that I had the date on them so for safety reasons for M's sake I have decided to keep these photos private. I still have some definite fears about the safety of the internet yet! But, I do have this picture from the other day when I was changing M's earrings. She is funny about jewelry for such a young child. She is like this with her clothes as well. She is always asking me whether or not her clothes match?!? I am thinking you're a kid, just be a kid and have fun, don't worry about matching perfectly yet. Besides I don't have a grea sense of style myself, so I am probably not a good person to ask. She still thinks that I am brilliant and that her daddy hung the moon, so she would probably believe me no matter what I tell her! Now I send her to her oldest sister and she is very stylish and knows the answers that M is asking for. Anyway, back to the pictures below, I decided to post this picture because I don't usually have very many of me, due to my being behind the camera :)

Okay, this is too long for one night. I am gonna stop here and hope that I can finish the other soon. For now I am off to lala land, we have a gym meet again in the morning! At least it is in town this time! Well, good night

Famous Quotes

"I am beginning to suspect all elaborate and special systems of education. They seem to me to be built upon the supposition that every child is a kind of idiot who must be taught to think. Whereas, if the child is left to himself, he will think more and better, if less showily. Let him go and come freely, let him touch real things and combine his impressions for himself, instead of sitting indoors at a little round table, while a sweet-voiced teacher suggests that he build a stone wall with his wooden blocks, or make a rainbow out of strips of coloured paper, or plant straw trees in bead flower-pots. Such teaching fills the mind with artificial associations that must be got rid of, before the child can develop independent ideas out of actual experience." -- Anne Sullivan
