Ramblings, Sentiments, Rantings and Musings

My photo
I am a mother of 5 wonderful children and wife to one amazing Navy man. I am always changing things in my life, constantly learning something new and trying it out. I am a wannabe vegan, minimalist and currently living full time in an RV. Just for clarification, I say wannabe, because I know I am not perfect, but each day I strive to do the best I can. That's all I can expect from anyone no matter where they are in life. I learn something new everyday...mostly about myself and my little corner of reality. Life, to me, is loving, learning and making memories. These are better than all the tangible riches one can get their hands on! Besides, there will come a day when all I have left is my love and memories...so I'll stockpile as much of those as I can!
The Food Catalogue

Just how is it that my children are drooling over the new Schwann's Catalogue that was just delivered to my door by a very cheery older gentleman who assured me that, if nothing else the ice-cream would be enough to feed my familiy :)

They have not stopped looking at this gorgeously presented meals! Meals that I know darn good and well if I made they would say EEEWWWWwwww (with great emphasis I might add) do I have to eat that it looks yucky! As for the precious catalogue, they haven't put it down and have even carried it around with them. They have come to me to show me what they "think I should make"! Is there such a delivery place that services large families? I wonder? This catalogue doesn't give me much hope for my crew. Maybe the delivery guy was right and we'll stick to the ice-cream. The kiddos will love that and reward me with nothing but ooey gooey smiles! Until then I guess they will continue to drool over the pictures :)

Famous Quotes

"I am beginning to suspect all elaborate and special systems of education. They seem to me to be built upon the supposition that every child is a kind of idiot who must be taught to think. Whereas, if the child is left to himself, he will think more and better, if less showily. Let him go and come freely, let him touch real things and combine his impressions for himself, instead of sitting indoors at a little round table, while a sweet-voiced teacher suggests that he build a stone wall with his wooden blocks, or make a rainbow out of strips of coloured paper, or plant straw trees in bead flower-pots. Such teaching fills the mind with artificial associations that must be got rid of, before the child can develop independent ideas out of actual experience." -- Anne Sullivan
