Ramblings, Sentiments, Rantings and Musings

My photo
I am a mother of 5 wonderful children and wife to one amazing Navy man. I am always changing things in my life, constantly learning something new and trying it out. I am a wannabe vegan, minimalist and currently living full time in an RV. Just for clarification, I say wannabe, because I know I am not perfect, but each day I strive to do the best I can. That's all I can expect from anyone no matter where they are in life. I learn something new everyday...mostly about myself and my little corner of reality. Life, to me, is loving, learning and making memories. These are better than all the tangible riches one can get their hands on! Besides, there will come a day when all I have left is my love and memories...so I'll stockpile as much of those as I can!
2009??? Can this really be? Another whole year has passed, and a little too quickly for my comfort, if I might add!

I thought that I would acknowledge some highlights from 2008 (so I don't forget them)!

::We moved from Florida to Colorado and we lived in our camper for what began to seem like an eternity though it was only a little over a month!

::We bought a beautiful 5 bedroom home on 3 acres...that is still so cool to me (that this is where we live) and I still love, love, love our mountain views.

::We bought 3 horses, Jack, Colby and Mojo. Mojo is MY horse and I am thrilled because like most little girls, I always wanted one.

::We bought our chickens and now we get 6 fresh eggs everyday. So nice to know where your food comes from.

::Jud is working at very important and highly confidential job so I can't tell you what he does any more because even I don't get to know, bummer!

:: We are treasuring our shore duty and spending as much time together as we can possible manage and loving it.

::We officially became parents of not just one but two teenage children. And the greatest thing about them is that we really like them. They are pretty cool people to be around!

::My best friend Heather came to see me from out of state. She brought her two boys and we had a grand time when she wasn't feeling sick. We need to do that again really soon!

::My Daddy and his wife came out to see us and to help us finish our basement. We had such a great time with them and the kids got to really be around them for more than a few hours this time, because they were here for 19 days. The kids even got my step mom to jump on the trampoline with them. What a sight, what fun!

::We met a family from gymnastics who we love to pieces. As a matter of fact the lady's daughter is downstairs sleeping. This is only her 2nd or 3rd sleepover with anyone, but I think she is doing fine.

:: Zachary played football this year and did exceptionally well. I think he just likes to take his aggression out on that field. He is all testosterone these days. He is going through some changes and yet has still been so helpful and loving to me. I am cherishing these moments because most days I feel like he already has one foot out the door.

::Braji is turning into such an amazingly beautiful young lady. She is pretty interesting too. She likes rock n roll, she loves her job working with special needs children, but in her heart she is just a cowgirl. She has a special gift for working with animals and it is fun to watch her with her horses. She even works Mojo for me and though he is still really green, she has done wonders with him.

::Paxie is just beautiful. She is a very passionate person which is wonderful, but now and then well...never mind. We'll just say we have our moments of conflict. She really has become an amazing gymnast. She went to State Finals and placed 13th out of the hundreds that competed against her. She scored in the 9's in each event except floor, but still managed to pull out almost 37 in the all around. We are so proud of her.

:: Franki, oh, Franki...Have I ever told you how cool it is to have a Franki? I really think that everyone should have one. I think I will write another post to tell you about her cool ness. She is still doing gymnastics too and is doing quite well. She has far exceeded my expectations of how long she would last at this sport, but she loves it dearly.

::Paigy had a fantastic year as well. Her gymnastic is going great and she is beginning to phsyically mature in size not just mentally. (Secretly, I have been so happy that she stayed so little for so long!)This season coming up Paigy and Paxton will be on different levels and it will be the first time since day one that she and Paxie will not compete together. I am sure that it is difficult on their hearts but it will all work out for the best for each of them.

::We had some friends of mine come for a little visit. It was really great to see them. We got to do a lot of catching up for sure. Our kids got to know each other and to ride the horses and four wheelers together. Her oldest is 15 now, and my heart goes out to her because the days of childhood are fleeting.

::Ya know it never fails, I get on the computer late at night so as to not take away from my kids but then I end up falling asleep trying to write. Well maybe I will update this particular entry here soon. Well it is good-night for now. I have fallen asleep like six times just sitting here. Maybe before another year passes I will get back to this post.

:We, here hope that you are having a wonderful Holiday Season. Please keep checking back as I never quite know how and when I will get back on . Here's wishing somehow we could figure out some way to visit with all of you we love and miss!!!

::Have a Happy and Blessed Holiday Season and a Prosperous New Year!

Love all the Crew

Famous Quotes

"I am beginning to suspect all elaborate and special systems of education. They seem to me to be built upon the supposition that every child is a kind of idiot who must be taught to think. Whereas, if the child is left to himself, he will think more and better, if less showily. Let him go and come freely, let him touch real things and combine his impressions for himself, instead of sitting indoors at a little round table, while a sweet-voiced teacher suggests that he build a stone wall with his wooden blocks, or make a rainbow out of strips of coloured paper, or plant straw trees in bead flower-pots. Such teaching fills the mind with artificial associations that must be got rid of, before the child can develop independent ideas out of actual experience." -- Anne Sullivan
