Ramblings, Sentiments, Rantings and Musings

I am a mother of 5 wonderful children and wife to one amazing Navy man. I am always changing things in my life, constantly learning something new and trying it out. I am a wannabe vegan, minimalist and currently living full time in an RV. Just for clarification, I say wannabe, because I know I am not perfect, but each day I strive to do the best I can. That's all I can expect from anyone no matter where they are in life. I learn something new everyday...mostly about myself and my little corner of reality. Life, to me, is loving, learning and making memories. These are better than all the tangible riches one can get their hands on! Besides, there will come a day when all I have left is my love and memories...so I'll stockpile as much of those as I can!
Life these days::

  • I planted my garden a short while back and it seems the wind blew all the seed to one end of the rows. That's where all the sprouts are...uggghhh!
  • I haven't stayed for a full gymnastics lesson with my girls in weeks...not good.
  • We built our round pen and two of the three horses are doing great in it...of course mine is being a pain, but he is really young.
  • I finally made the green jello that Franki was asking for for 3 days.
  • My body feels more broken down than it ever has. I think it plans a revolt against me daily.
  • Braji is volunteering at a horse facility for teaching the handicapped and mentally impaired to ride...very neat experience for her and right up her alley.
  • Jud is starting a school next week which means he will have to drive even further than the 40 miles (one way) that he drives now. Yikes at the gas!
  • My house is still disorderly even though most of the boxes are unpacked...different state, same dilemma. (sigh)
  • Zachary is preparing to build my chicken coop and put a gate up for me yesterday by my garden.
  • I have one lonely asparagus in another veggie garden that the old owners planted. There really is hope!
  • I have more pics on my camera than I have any clue what to do with. I just keep looking through the lot of them and gritting my teeth. Hehehe!
  • I don't seem to have the time to blog like I thought I would.
  • Two of my children just had birthdays and I am still in shock to have a 14yo.
  • My sweet Miranda tells me daily how she wants to stay little forever...I tell her even when she no longer fits in my lap she will always fit in my heart. I secretly want her to stay little to, not only her but all of them. hmmm.
  • I can't keep enough granola cereal in my house. You'd think the kids were starving or something.
  • Today we are making chocolate covered strawberries...my poor ever bulging waistline...but mmmm!!!
  • Paxton is growing up so fast I have to stare at her daily to make sure I don't miss anything. When did she get taller?
  • My day is flying by me already and here I sit. Time to run before it passes me by.

Have a great day!

Dana

Famous Quotes

"I am beginning to suspect all elaborate and special systems of education. They seem to me to be built upon the supposition that every child is a kind of idiot who must be taught to think. Whereas, if the child is left to himself, he will think more and better, if less showily. Let him go and come freely, let him touch real things and combine his impressions for himself, instead of sitting indoors at a little round table, while a sweet-voiced teacher suggests that he build a stone wall with his wooden blocks, or make a rainbow out of strips of coloured paper, or plant straw trees in bead flower-pots. Such teaching fills the mind with artificial associations that must be got rid of, before the child can develop independent ideas out of actual experience." -- Anne Sullivan
