Military moves
Well here we are again. It is time to move. This life definitely has it ups and downs and moving around (alot) is just another part of it. We will be heading out of here in just about a month. So many things going on right now. Our house is up for sale. People popping in alot to look at the house. Me trying to keep it clean (well all the kids help tremendously) and show ready. Ugghh! I really do not like this part as you see I am a lazy housekeeper and I like it that way! I have to admit though it is nice to look around and not see all the clutter. It helps that we rented a storage shed and put like half our house in it. Just kidding, but there is a lot of stuff in storage.
I am really happy to be leaving this place. Not that we don't have some great memories here. But we also have a lot of memories without Jud. He was gone almost 3 out of the 4 years we spent here. He was away on either 6 month deployments or 4 month surges or just out to sea for who knows what. I am so grateful to be transferring to shore duty for the next 2 years. It ain't long but it is something and that is alot to us.
We are excited about the changes that we will be able to experience. We have seen a lot of this country in the last 14 years. In order we have lived in California, Virginia, Connecticut, Maine, New Mexico, Florida and now we are off to Colorado. It is not a boring or dull life by any stretch of the imagination, but sometimes I wish we could just settle some place and be done with all this moving. Doesn't look to happen anytime soon though.
I guess we'll just continue to try and experience all we can out of each place and be content where ever we are at the moment. For now we are off again, starting over again and embracing the new one more time.

Ramblings, Sentiments, Rantings and Musings

- Dana
- I am a mother of 5 wonderful children and wife to one amazing Navy man. I am always changing things in my life, constantly learning something new and trying it out. I am a wannabe vegan, minimalist and currently living full time in an RV. Just for clarification, I say wannabe, because I know I am not perfect, but each day I strive to do the best I can. That's all I can expect from anyone no matter where they are in life. I learn something new everyday...mostly about myself and my little corner of reality. Life, to me, is loving, learning and making memories. These are better than all the tangible riches one can get their hands on! Besides, there will come a day when all I have left is my love and memories...so I'll stockpile as much of those as I can!

Famous Quotes
"I am beginning to suspect all elaborate and special systems of education. They seem to me to be built upon the supposition that every child is a kind of idiot who must be taught to think. Whereas, if the child is left to himself, he will think more and better, if less showily. Let him go and come freely, let him touch real things and combine his impressions for himself, instead of sitting indoors at a little round table, while a sweet-voiced teacher suggests that he build a stone wall with his wooden blocks, or make a rainbow out of strips of coloured paper, or plant straw trees in bead flower-pots. Such teaching fills the mind with artificial associations that must be got rid of, before the child can develop independent ideas out of actual experience." -- Anne Sullivan
